Itinerary Overview​​

Please find our proposed itinerary below, which serves as a starting point. We would be pleased to tailor a tour specifically to your interests.

Upon your arrival, your personal guide will be waiting to extend a warm welcome at the airport arrivals hall or train station exit. You will then be escorted to a comfortable, non-smoking private vehicle. Your experienced driver will ensure a smooth journey to your hotel, where your guide will assist you with the check-in process.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall. This segment offers a unique opportunity to witness both meticulously restored and original "wild" walls.

A cable car will take you to a central vantage point. Here, you choose your adventure: traverse the easier, restored wall to the right, or challenge yourself with the rugged, wild wall to the left. Both paths offer unparalleled views and photo opportunities.

Enjoy a late lunch at the foot of the Wall before a short 20-minute transfer to the enchanting Gubei Water Town for your overnight stay. Settle in, then explore the town's charming canals and alleys as the setting sun casts a golden glow on the traditional roofs and the distant Simatai Great Wall.

The evening's highlight is a cable car ascent to the Simatai section, specially illuminated to create a breathtaking nighttime spectacle. This is one of the few sections where you can experience the Great Wall after dark, a truly unforgettable experience.

After breakfast, we begin at the vast Tian'anmen Square before proceeding to the day's highlight: the magnificent Forbidden City. Home to 24 emperors across the Ming and Qing dynasties (1420-1912), this palace complex is a treasure trove of history.

Your expert guide will not only provide deep background on its architecture and art but will also take you to 12 carefully selected sites within the complex. This offers a more in-depth exploration than standard group tours, which typically only cover six. Listen to captivating stories of eight famous imperial figures as your guide brings the Forbidden City to life.

After lunch, we continue to the Temple of Heaven, where emperors prayed for bountiful harvests. You will visit its key structures: the Circular Mound Altar, the Echo Wall, and the Imperial Vault of Heaven, appreciating the profound philosophy behind each.​

Savor your final morning in the traditional courtyard-style setting of Gubei Water Town. For early risers, a serene walk through the quiet, less-crowded lanes is highly recommended. Your guide will point out selected spots that best capture the authentic Chinese atmosphere, perfect for those last memorable photographs.

Following this, immerse yourself in a 45-minute cultural workshop. You may choose one of these three authentic experiences to create your own unique souvenir: the intricate art of tie-dyeing, the creative process of kite making, or the mindful practice of Buddhist text tracing.

After a farewell lunch, your journey concludes. We recommend booking flights departing after 5:00 PM, as the transfer to Beijing Capital International Airport takes approximately 2 hours. Your guide will manage all luggage and transportation, ensuring a smooth departure by accompanying you right to your airport check-in desk.
